Acne Scarring

There are several safe and effective treatments for acne scars.  Over time, acne scars may appear more prominent due to the breakdown of collagen in the skin. Treatment aims to minimize the appearance of the texture and color irregularity of the skin. Treatment options include professional-grade skincare products, prescription medications, blue or red light treatments, chemical peels, filler, and lasers.

Chemical Peels

Chemical peels can be effective for correcting discoloration or other signs of aging caused by the sun.  They are very safe of all skin types and colors. Facial and body chemical peels work through improving the texture and color of your skin by removing the photo-damaged outer layers of your skin. During the procedure, you may experience a slight tingling or stinging sensation. Depending on the type and strength of chemical peel used, you may have slight flaking for one to several days. Afterwards, your rejuvenated skin cells will produce a youthful, fresh glow.

Different types of fillers (Juvederm®, Restylane®, Belotero®, Radiesse®, Sculptra®, Voluma®) are used to correct or enhance your appearance. Results are appreciated immediately, and filler in the face often lasts 6 months to 2 years. Your comfort is maximized due to the use of a topical numbing cream and cooling sprays and devices prior to the start of the procedures. Downtime is minimal. Fillers are ideal for replacing volume loss, plumping up deep nasolabial folds or marionette lines, and minimizing undereye hallows.

It rebuilds collagen and elastin in the face to produce a youthful appearance, free of fine lines and textural changes. Discomfort is minimized through use of anesthetic nerve blocks, as well as topical numbing creams prior to the procedure. Downtime can range from one week to one month.

Neuromodulators (Botox®, Dysport®, Xeomin®) are facial treatments designed to relax the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines at the forehead, between the eyebrows, and around the eyes. It can also be used in around the lips, jaw, and neck. These treatments can also be used other indications unrelated to wrinkles or fine lines—for the treatment of masseter hypertrophy and for excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis) of the underarms, hands, and feet.

Laser Hair Removal

Eliminating the need to shave daily can be life-changing. Laser hair removal has a proven track record of safety and long-lasting effects, and is the preferred way for removing unwanted hair from the face and body. Light is used to selectively destroy stem cells within hair follicles, thus preventing unwanted hair growth. A series of treatment is often required. During the treatment, you will experience a slight stinging sensation, similar to a light rubber band snap. There is no down associated with this procedure.

Laser Rejuvenation

A combination of neuromodulators (Botox®, Dysport®, Xeomin®), filler (Juvederm®, Restylane®, Belotero®, Radiesse®, Sculptra®, Voluma®), intense pulsed light (IPL), photodynamic therapy (PDT), chemical peels,  lasers, and Fraxel® can be used to rejuvenate tired skin. A series of treatments are often needed to remove broken blood vessels, age spots, unwanted freckles, and to even out the texture of the skin. The face, neck, décolletage, and hands are areas that are commonly treated. .
